Introduction.....

Welcome to Dai’s Forge, a place where anything can happen with a piece of metal.  This is a forge that travels all over the UK doing historical re-enactment, showing people how the blacksmith of the time would have worked.  From the Iron Age when blacksmiths were considered as near magical people because of their ability to change a lump of rock into metal, to the 15th century when the blacksmith could be producing fine decorative pieces of armour and weaponry that would never see a battlefield alongside the more mundane pots and pans.

We've included a couple of articles which may be of interest to those wanting a little more information on blacksmiths and historical re-enactment...

For a guide to the tools, techniques, and equipment used please click here.

Perhaps you are considering re-enactment and want to know about the work involved in creating a your own mobile home (i.e. a tent) please click here.

For an article on casting bronze please click here

If the information you seek is not to be found on this site please get in touch (see our contact section) and we'll try and respond - however please note due to our time away from computers at re-enactment a response may not be immediate.
